The Mill Operator is a key leader within the milling crew, responsible for the precise and efficient removal of asphalt pavement. You will expertly operate the milling machine, a complex piece of equipment that grinds away old asphalt to prepare surfaces for new paving. Beyond operating the machine, you play a crucial role in leading the crew, supporting the Field Engineer (foreman) by coordinating tasks, ensuring safety, and maintaining production schedules. You are skilled in troubleshooting equipment issues and communicating effectively with team members. The Milling Machine Operator must be able to interpret project plans, adjust milling depths, and maintain consistent quality, contributing to the successful completion of road resurfacing projects. This role demands both technical expertise and strong leadership abilities, making you a vital asset to the construction team.
